Making the decision to look for help can be a huge step on its own, so the thought of sharing your most personal thoughts with a stranger can be really daunting.

Thinking about what it might be like when you meet a therapist for the first time might also make you feel a little bit anxious, that’s totally normal.

I want you to feel as informed as you possibly can before we meet. So, here are some details about what you can expect from working with me.  

What happens in a consultation session?

The initial consultation can take up to 60 minutes and gives us the opportunity to chat about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to achieve. It’s a chance for you to ask any questions and for me to get an understanding of how we might be able to work together.

We can then create a shared understanding of how you would like to move forward and a potential plan for our ongoing work together.

At this stage there is no obligation, and if it’s helpful for you to go away and have a think before booking the next session, that’s absolutely ok.

What happens in a hypnotherapy session?

I believe therapy is as individual as you are, and so no one session will be the same. Once we have agreed the goals of therapy, we will work towards those goals during each session, using a range of different techniques to get you there.

Each session will last 60 minutes, and we will go at your pace. There will always be flexibility in the treatment plan to make sure you’re getting the most out of your therapy.
